SP eastbound leaving Dunsmuir mid-1990's
Author: photobob

Well here is my first attempt at downloading a video. Ive been transferring some of my Hi8 tape to digital. When I first moved up here in 1990 I was shooting a fair amount of video. Man I look at what you can do now compared to what was state of the art in the 1990's.

Nice video Bob, love the snow. Hope you have more to post, I wish I had taken more pics and had a video camera back then. Miss the old SP.

Bob, it would appear that your "first attempt" is a complete success, especially considering the less than ideal light. Love hearing the SD's being notched out as they get underway. Thanks for sharing your first attempt.

Bob, that sure came out well and thanks for posting it. What software are you using to convert your Hi8 to digital?

Bitchen stuff Bob. Hope Charles Smiley didn't get all your stuff. Brings back good memories of the SP. Glad you did the video "kick"... The sound itself is priceless.

Post away...

Whoa, that's a keeper for the SP fan! You caught the hot PCX train, with those funky movie van trailers near the end which were commonly seen on SP I-5 trains of the 90's.
Looks like quite a snowfall there. Even the beacon had snow ontop of it and one of the first stack cars is plowing snow. And once again, who can resist the basso sound of the might SD45 engine!?
Speaking of Charles Smiley, I have all of his SP DVD's and your name is listed at the end of most of them. Charles is a customer adn friend of mine and I've been hounding him to produce more movies. If you have more, please bug him too and get your stuff over to him. We need to see all of these treasures in our living rooms before they are lost or forgotten!

Those older SD-45's and SD-40T-2's just sound great--NO MUFFLERS. Just pure engine roar!
