SP 3611 held out in black widow (with gray trucks) until early 1974, whereupon the cab, short hood, and frame, but not the long hood, were painted scarlet and gray:

OK, maybe my mind is going, but in its last months, didn't the 3611 lose its orange banding in favor of an all silver nose? I could swear that I have a photo of this, somewhere...

The only one I saw after losing it's stripes, was SD9 #3883. But maybe the GP9 did also.
