------------------------------------------------------- > Are you sure #2 was taken in 1989? Central Ave Viaduct above, you can see the bus trolley wires hanging still so probably prior to 74-75, if is a 9 year, would be 69 and weekend consist??? Galewood yard would be off to right, engine house on the far side beyond the viaduct. Believe it or not there was a little hill here, Narragansett Hill. Runs N-S. One time I was on yard job with an FM and a pair of GP's had a big transfer for Bensenville and no sand so I hung on the front and made sure the coupler stayed open. We hit them on the move and the FM just throttled up. Proabably got the whole deal moving on it own. We stayed on until the Mars plant. Today I still play tennis at Jacob Riis park just north of there, and the courts sit at the bottom of the hill. The Brickyard(Was a Milw customer) Shopping Center is at the top and the remains of the Dunning branch is behind the Mall. Not way up on this and far from Pass train expert but has the look??? of North Coast Hi, smaller train, Domes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Coast_Hiawatha From above article On November 14, 1971, Amtrak formally named this service the North Coast Hiawatha, with a tri-weekly schedule between Chicago and Spokane independent of the Empire Builder.
