Nostalgia & History > CNJ - NJT -- Raritan, NJ, December 1973Date: 03/05/15 16:29 CNJ - NJT -- Raritan, NJ, December 1973 Author: DocJohn The very recent post of the CNJ-NJT at Cranford in 1982 was a reminder to post some of my CNJ-NJT pictures from a decade earlier and at Raritan, NJ. The first image is from December 1973 and shows what was likely one of the last trains to use the two yard-lead tracks right in front of the Raritan station. The yard-lead tracks were severed that afternoon and a new lead was cut into the eastbound main before the First Street (?) crossing. This change was in preparation for a bridge to be put in over the road.
