Nostalgia & History > Thirty Thursday - The Old ReliableDate: 03/05/15 19:52 Thirty Thursday - The Old Reliable Author: burlingtonjohn Offered for your consideration are these two shots of Louisville & Nashville GP30 1061 at Mt Vernon Illinois, 18 Jun 81. Q-GP30 and I were on a road trip to see the Crab Orchard & Egyptian steam operations in nearby Marion Illinois. Offered a tour of the Precision National Shops arranged by family friends Alta Jane & Joe Haydon (former residents of our home town Palmyra Missouri), we naturally stopped off in Mt Vernon.
I was armed with a Konica FS1 and Kodachrome 64 ... I learned the lesson of using a cheap film developer on this trip, never to be repeated again. Thanks to photoshop elements, these shots that should have been tossed long ago are somewhat presentable. Regards, Burlington John Date: 03/07/15 22:31 Re: Thirty Thursday - The Old Reliable Author: alco636 Looks as if it may have had a rear mounted gyralight. Cool!
