Nostalgia & History > A look back at the MoPac at Concordia, KS, in '81Date: 03/06/15 07:26 A look back at the MoPac at Concordia, KS, in '81 Author: JoCoLB Attached are copies of some color slides that I snapped at Missouri Pacific Railroad facilities in Concordia, KS, in April of 1981. I have no details relating to the various scenes. But it is still enoyable to look back at the MoPac.

Does anyone know why the top edge off the unit folds down so much. I would think it maybe better to make it more upright so the snow goes left or right instead off fold over on to the track. yours snoopy Many thanks for your reply Date: 03/06/15 14:56 Re: A look back at the MoPac at Concordia, KS, in '81 Author: Evan_Werkema snoopy51 Wrote:

The curl is supposed to keep the snow that didn't get enough of a sideways shove the first time from "ski-jumping" over the top of the plow and landing on the locomotives. The snow that folds over back onto the tracks will just be hit by the plow again and given another shove to the side until it finally makes it off the track. |
