Nostalgia & History > Flare Friday- ATSF GP40XDate: 03/06/15 07:50 Flare Friday- ATSF GP40X Author: ATSF5964 Here's the Santa Fe 3801 leading his train upgrade just east of Woodford on a glorious spring day, Saturday April 15, 1995. It was Easter weekend and Tehachapi was packed with fans- even folks camping in tents at the Loop- ah, those were the days. The campers were in for a rude surprise, though- Easter morning dawned cold and white with several inches of snow!

First photo is beautiful - looks just like a postcard.

Went to bed with clear skies and woke up the next morning to an inch and a half of snow on the van. Temp was 22. It was really great watching trains in the snow. Thanks for sharing the pair and that last shot really "gets it."
