Nostalgia & History > A few SJVR from the start upDate: 03/24/15 20:09 A few SJVR from the start up Author: dlbowen The SJVR (San Joaquin Valley Railroad) took over some of the former SP branch lines in the Fresno/Visalia area 01/1992. These are a few photos taken around Exeter plus. The former VE office and shop was the SJVR headquarters.

A scab is someone who crosses a picket line to take the place of striking workers. A scab is NOT a shortline taking over operations from a larger carrier that no longer wanted the route or an employee who works for said shortline. Great pictures! I remember seeing photos of SDAE units around '82 with the same one.

The only one that I know of that didn't use the goose was the singing-conductor railroad on Maui (RIP), which as I've oft mentioned, was a subsidiary of Yreka Western.
