Rock Island, Rhode Island
Author: flynn

When I went to bed Thursdaynight it was Rock Island Railroad.  WhenI made my posting on Friday morning it was Rhode Island Railroad.  I didn’t realize the error until laterFriday.  There is no Rhode IslandRailroad.  There was a Rhode Island CentralRailroad but it lasted for only one year, 1879-1880, and its successor was the New
York, Providence and Boston Railroad.
Through the confusion I founda website with terrific railroad photos.  http://www3.familyoldphotos.com/category/special-sections/railroads?page=1 Picture 1, “Erie RR crew nearUniondale, Wells, IN 1913: back l-r William Henry Burnside, Kirk Dilworth
Harris, Clarence Keller, unknown, Charles E. Harris & Ross Strausbaugh
front l-r Joseph H. Harris, James Forrest Harris, George Miller, Fred Bailey,
Elmer Dewey Harris, Robert Bartholmew & Robert Scott.
