Author: krm152 Southern Railway (SOU) and Norfolk & Western (N&W) once jointly operated three trains from Washington DC via Lynchburg, Roanoke, Bristol, and Chattanooga to Birmingham, New Orleans, and Memphis respectively. N&W handled operations between Lynchburg and Bristol.
