Those E44's look sharp in the new paint!  Thanks for the interesting variety of scenes too.  Nice to see a CR GP30 once in a while as well.

In the sixth photo, what is that motor on the far left with the shield under the window, ending in 04?

-Like the fellow above says, I think it's a Delaware and Hudson unit.

75,  Just an FYI for ya. Those are ex VGN/N&W/NYNH&H Electrics now classed E33 here on the PC and now CR in the shot. E44's were in 4400 series. There were 10 of these E33's, in the 4600 series.  As for the Unit on left in shot 6. That would be D&H GP39-2 7404 an Ex RDG Unit acquired by the D&H at the CR Merger. They had Trackage Rights south out of the Scranton Pa area to Enola and Potomac Yard in the Wash DC area as compensation for the CR Deal.  Ben

Thanks for the very interesting details!  This group of photos is getting more interesting with each contribution.  How nice would it be to see some of that electric power in Virginian and New Haven colors?  Are any of them still in service or preserved?  My only fanning back East was in 1974 for just a few days around New Brunswick and my slides are still on the search-for list.

Rich, None are active anymore. CR de activated the Electrics around 1981 or so.  I do believe someone has an E33 at a Museum in VGN Paint.  Not really sure which one, (might be the VTM in Roanoke tho).  I think it's the only one still around.   Ben
