Nostalgia & History > Grande 30's in Glenwood Canyon 1982Date: 05/21/15 12:40 Grande 30's in Glenwood Canyon 1982 Author: valmont Deep in Colorado's Glenwood Canyon a trio of GP30's lead an eb train back when the Canyon stretch was just two-lanes and the completion of I-70 through the Canyon was a number of years in the future. Took this shot on April 15, 1982.

Spring runoff of the mountain snowpack contributes to the water level, but you are correct, it is quite close. There are a number of articles about flooding in the Canyon that can be found through a Google search, including at least one that I read, that offered that climate change is causing the runoff to now occur earlier than the 'normal' Spring runoff.
