Ghostly Remains - Mackinaw City Float Bridge

While wandering about recently in Mackinaw City, Michigan, I found the remains of the old railroad float bridge. Not much else is left other than the bike trails that were once railroad.

The "Chief Wawatam" carferry that went across the Straits used to load there to go to St. Ignace. In 1983 the State of Michigan pulled the funding that kept it afloat. I'll dig out a slide and scan it. === === = === JLH
