Wow, thanks. In later years, that old Alco switcher was painted red. I always thought when people alighted from the boat en masse like that, walking among the freight cars onto the slip and over the tracks, that there was a lot of potential liability issues, many ways to get injured, but I never heard of a problem. Frankfort/Elberta is a disappointment now, you can not even tell that all that ever was there, even overhead on Google Earth, unless you were there and saw the layout, it is difficult to spot where that ever happened. === === = === JLH

Man, you aren't kidding. I stopped there in the late 90's and a lot was still intact, including the slips and IIRC, there was even a derelict ferry still moored there. Looks like someone wiped the slate clean!

Both pictures are very interesting. The boy & girl in the first picture and the 2 boys in the 2nd share the fascination. Great to have these scenes recorded on film lest they be lost to memory.

Priceless. We were there in the early 1990s and the big boat was still moored there. Looked like there were some railroad cars nearby as well. Sorry to hear it's all gone now.

Hey THAT-L-DO, is that you in that first picture?
