Tom Date: 05/27/15 23:10 Re: ATSF 504 E. Author: 3rdswitch Those are awesome shots. Two different sides of the good old Santa Fe, the hottest and not so hottest both working toward the same goal, meeting customers expectations (sounds like a commercial) and making money for the company.
JB Date: 05/28/15 07:35 Re: ATSF 504 E. Author: lamta_jay Thanks for posting Don...I thought I was the only one taking pictures out there . The last shots I had on that line I think was 1991 and they still had a caboose.
It makes me sad to know all the Santa Fe branch line network is gone. Just GONE. The small sections like Visalia to Loma and Exeter to Lindsey are now Islands that still say Santa Fe ! Thanks again Jay Date: 05/28/15 07:40 Re: ATSF 504 E. Author: lamta_jay Don
Was it you that took the pictures of ATSF GP60m's in downtown Visalia ? I seem to remember somebody posted some a while back Thanks for all your great pics ! Jay Date: 05/28/15 10:05 Re: ATSF 504 E. Author: dlbowen Yes, Jay, I posted some OLS photos from Visalia from May of 92 GP60M 116 was the loco on the point. There were 2 GP60M's back to back. What does one expect to happen when a salvage company put up 75% of the money to buy a railroad? A railroad makes money running trains; a salvage company makes money destroying a railroad.
