Original c1850 Monon Building New Albany IN Jul 04 1985

The attached photo was taken Jul 04 1985 in New Albany IN of the Monon’s original building that housed their station, freight house, and shops. This building dates to around 1850. My information about this structure is from Pages 12-13 of “Monon Route” by George W. Hilton. Do not know present status of this structure.

According to the Arcadia book Railroad Depots of Southern Indiana, it was heavily damaged by fire in March 1995 and torn down that August:
