These photos were taken by Rick Burn in May 1966 at the Chicago Transit Authority's Logan Square Terminal before the northwest line was extended through a section of subway and the median of the Kennedy Expressway eventually reaching O'Hare (ORD).

Those photos show another CTA location that I could use to challenge the advocates of "Monorail" transit systems to duplicate in their chosen mode (Howard St. is #1).  As part of the 1971 visit to Chicago that I've referred to elsewhere, I took the "L" to Jefferson Park, which became the terminal in 1970. Here I transferred to a CTA bus (may have been one of their propane burners) to O'Hare to rent a car for the long haul out to Illinois Ry. Museum.  These buses shared a body style with some of the trolley coaches used by San Francisco Muni.

These both appear to be Flixibles, which were a very small minority
in most systems, and were basically gone by the mid-70's.  Good
catch.

That sure doesn't look like the Logan Square that I remember!! I remember Logan Square as a 2 track stub end terminal, tracks between the platforms with no storage tracks

The last time I rode that line would have been heading home during the blizzard of 67, somewhere around midnight. So my memory very well could be and probably is faulty. I rode it many times as a child usually from the railfan seat
