Maroon Monday RS2
Author: MartyBernard

Rock Island RS2 451 working in Joliet, IL on September 1, 1969.  The long hood looks like it belongs to a GP7 because it had been re-engined by EMD.

Enjoy,
Marty Bernard

Another great photo Marty. That would appear to be the Rockdale switcher coming back east through Joliet UD heading to the yard on the east side of town near Pilcher Park.

MKT had several ALCO RS3s re-powered by EMD with a similar appearance except theirs had dynamic brake blisters.

In the Chicago Terminal at least a few employees called them "morphodites"
