Nostalgia & History > North West Steel & Wire ?Date: 08/03/15 13:41 North West Steel & Wire ? Author: miralomarail I know Steam is gone from Sterling, IL and I read in Railfan Magazine that the Plant went belly up, so has anyone else takened over their Plant ?

Author: HotWater Just my opinion but, I think your "Google Maps" view is probably some 25 years old , or more. There haven't been any locomotives lined up for scrap at Northwestern Steal and Wire for many, many, many years.

Everything we had heard said, speak to the guard and get permission for photo's, however on the Satursay we were there it was very Cold, even Colder then Germeny was ! The Guard had a bucket of steaming water he took in his shack, where he stayed while we enjoyed watching # 10 work |
