I do agree it's a nice video. It seems to be below the "475 Spot" between the Swarthout Canyon Road crossing and Keenbrook, which is a really neat area of Cajon that gets overshadowed by Sullivan's Curve and other spots. Lots of "Warpeaches" in the consist of the manifest, which looks to be two trains combined: a regular manifest and the Pittsburg, CA, coil steel empties. Thanks for posting. Always enjoyable to see different aspects of Cajon Pass. Nick Tharalson, Marion, IA Date: 08/26/15 15:50 Re: BNSF in Cajon. Author: ted1897 You're right on, Nick, this video was filmed below the little-known "475 spot" near MP 475 on the Palmdale Cutoff. In existence since the early 1980's, the 475 spot is maintained each spring when Karl, "the Chicago Kid," comes out for his annual visit to Cajon Pass. The big oak tree has suffered from the drought but still provides shade for the occasional railfan. The switch-back trail up to the tree is in good shape, and the look-down views of the Cutoff and the BNSF triple tracks remain spectacular!
