I would have loved to listen when the Q 4-6-2s were doing this.   I used to ride my bike down to the Maplewood, MO depot every evening to listen to the MoPaC 4-6-2 bark away from there.  Then one day, the loust SOBs put an Alco FA on it and ruined my fun.

I wish I could have been trackside on the Burlington East End, when they bumped the S class Hudsons off the main line passenger assignments, and forced them into Aurora to Chicago commute service. According to many witness, the 3000 and 4000 class Hudsons were so loud that many communities began complaining about the terrific noise, not to mention cracked/shattered store front business window glass damage. It didn't take long before the CB&Q removed them from commute service, and they all went into freight service, reportedly doing a great job.
