They installed quite a bit of welded rail after 1968. Even started putting some on the DL&W side towards the end. Since the DL&W side didn't see much traffic between 1961 and 1972, it was in pretty good shape when they started shifting the traffic that way in late 1972. Edited 1 time(s).
