Nostalgia & History > Wig-Wag WednesdayDate: 09/02/15 19:28 Wig-Wag Wednesday Author: lamta_jay Just a brief look at some Wig Wags I have seen and photographed
#1.....West of Azusa on the connector track PE built so the remnant of the Glendora Line could be abandoned. Taken in 1986 and have noticed it is gone today. The pole mounted Wig Wags are my favorite, It smells of the Pacific Electric. #2.....Taken in Gardena on the spur to the lumber company on Western.2008 #3.....Taken in Alta Loma 1990 I know the remaining Wig Wags will disappear soon, long live our wig wags Thanks for looking Jay Date: 09/02/15 19:34 Re: Wig-Wag Wednesday Author: lamta_jay one more, I found this one in Ellensburg, WA at the BNSF maintenance yard entrance.
Wonder if it was used in Ellensburg ? Thanks Jay Date: 09/02/15 22:20 Re: Wig-Wag Wednesday Author: BOBDRGW Thanks Jay - It was fun times chasing the PE. Bob B.

Cool shots Date: 09/03/15 09:37 Re: Wig-Wag Wednesday Author: lamta_jay The spur go's all the way over to Western off the Torrance line
This was just a side street where the Wig Wag Was Jay Date: 09/03/15 09:48 Re: Wig-Wag Wednesday Author: jtbrandt #2 still appears on Google Street view. (on Hobart)
There is another one pictured a block east on Denker as well. Edit: #4 still appears on Google street view as well. Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 09/03/15 10:44 by jtbrandt. I think the busiest time for that line was in the mid-70s, when the Miller Brewing Co. plant in Milwaukee was shut down by a strike and they cranked up the output of the Azusa brewery (the former Lucky Lager plant). The Azusa facility was abandoned some time in the 1980s when the present Irwindale facility was built.
