I can't place that location, does anyone know whose train that would have been on the far right-hand track? I'm curious about the UP express boxcar that's there. Take care, Mark MartyBernard Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > CB&Q E8A 9943A and sisters in St. Paul with the > North Coast Limited on June 14, 1964. > > Enjoy, > Marty Bernard Date: 10/05/15 08:31 Re: A CB&Q E8 in St. Paul Author: ntharalson mamfahr Wrote:

This would probably be a part of the mail and express section of the "Western Star". These were normally loaded on the north side of the depot in stub tracks. Since this view is looking west at a train about to depart, my guess, north and the stub tracks would be to the right of the photo. Best guess I can give you here. Nice shot, Marty, thanks for posting. Nick Tharalson, Marion, IA Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/05/15 08:39 by ntharalson. You are correct in your directions. This picture is of the eastbound North Coast Limited, due out of St. Paul to Chicago on the CB&Q at 7:15 am (I am going by a November, 1964 timetable). The westbound GN Western Star was due out at 9:00 am. Date: 10/06/15 11:26 Re: A CB&Q E8 in St. Paul Author: retcsxcfm czephyr17 Wrote:

The westbound GN > Western Star was due out at 9:00 am. That box car has no markers or other ID that would prove that it was on a train. Uncle Joe,Seffner,Fl. |
