That metered parking lot across the track was for all day parking. I remember my parents off on shopping errands while I was happy to stay behind, just watching the SP activity. The last steam I saw there in regular service was a 2-6-0 in the summer of 1956. It was a light engine, stopped briefly on the mainline while the crew went into the depot.
