Probably not but kinda looks like the crossing of the SP and the BN (former GN) highline near Alturas, CA

The general answer is you are in the right area but need a little help on how you define east (which will certainly narrow the search area). For many of us 'eastern Colorado' is the eastern plains from the northern state line to the southern state line, some actually lump eastern Colorado into everything east of the Continental Divide!

Somewhere very close to Fort Collins...

I'd guess one of the diamonds for the Great Western or pre-merger UP branches, but somebody needs to fess up with some details. Mostly by the grass cover and the mountains in the background, doesn't look like the east-west merger routes.

Nice photo, thanks for posting.

well the train is BN, and the UP you mentioned is correct, maybe that will help, also not mountains, its a hill in background

My bad, should have said lack of mountains. That big rolling hill to the right does say Front Range Sub though.

I was thinking Windsor too (having lived there) but "what the .... "   as far as this train there !!

I can't get my head around that one.

I was just noticing the rails on each line are rather light looking.
