Three Shots of UP Leaving Sullivan's Curve

UP 3780, 3509, and 3188, all SD40-2s, with autoracks in Cajon Pass, CA on September 15, 1991.

My notes say the autoracks are empty.  Is that reasonable?

Unles they were loaded with imports at the harbor for shipment east.  That lead rack in #3 does appear like it is empty though.

Kevin, being it looks to be a whole train on empties, it more than likely came out of Mira Loma and was headed to Kansas City. Would have been about 80 empty auto racks as that was the limit back then. Now they run some trains with 90 racks.-BMT

I think that you've missed the point which was being made .... as in "Made in the USA".
