In this morning’s China Daily there is a website, Snow-clad scenery in the Great Wall, with 7 photos.  I copied one of the photos and have posted it below.

I did a search on the Denver Public Library Digital Images website for Railroad Wall and got 205 results.  Three of the photos from this search are below.

Sledge hammers, shovels, and railroad ties are among the tools.  Date: between 1920 and 1930.  Formerly HC557.  Image scanned from loaned collection.  Title supplied.  Physical Description: 1 photonegative: nitrate; 20 x 25 cm. (8 x 10 in.).  Is Part Of James Ozment collection of George Beam photographs.”

Picture 2, “Call Number: Z-6019.  Title: Burlington's new Vista Dome, Denver Zephyr.  Summary: View of a banquet, a promotional event for the Chicago, Burlington, Northern and Quincy Railroads new Denver Zephyr Vista Dome in Denver, Colorado. Men are seated at banquet tables in a conference room. A large printed advertisement hung on the wall shows the Vista Dome train with the caption ‘Ride Burlington's New Vista Dome, Denver Zephyr, Denver to Chicago.’ The tables have linen table cloths and place settings. A scale model of the train is at the center of the head table and a waitress in uniform stands nearby. A placard near the wall reads ‘Arthur L. Baldwin, certified public accountant, presiding today.’ A microphone at a podium reads: ‘KOA.’  Date: 1956?  Condition: torn, creased, soiled.  Title in photograph.  Physical Description: 1 photographic print: 19 x 24 cm. Picture 3, “Call Number: Z-5674.  Title: Ceremonies at completion of Moffat Tunnel.  Summary: People gather around a KOA radio broadcast microphone at a ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Moffat Tunnel at East Portal (Gilpin County), Colorado. An announcer holds a piece of paper and stands on a podium. Men wear suits and overcoats, caps and fedoras. A photographer in knickers and tall boots holds a camera. Colorado Governor William ‘Billy’ Adams holds a spike maul and stands in the middle of Denver and Salt Lake Railway tracks; former Colorado Governor Oliver H. Shoup holds a spike maul and stands nearby. Shows spectators on the concrete portal wall, and a Moffat Tunnel plaque near the tracks.  Date: 1928, February 26.  ‘Completion of Moffat Tunnel’ inked on verso.  Formerly F33817.  Title inked on photographic print.  Library owns additional iterations of this image in various formats: 1 copy negative; 10 x 13 cm. (4 x 5 in.).  Physical Description: 1 photographic print; 21 x 26 cm. (8 x 10 in.).
