Nostalgia & History > Do you like the desert??Date: 11/24/15 11:27 Do you like the desert?? Author: bradleymckay I do, especially in the winter and spring.
An example of spring (April 1998) is this BNSF eastbound decending from Tehachapi Summit to Mojave (CA) with a manifest train. Colorful locomotive consists on BNSF were common back in that era. Allen Date: 11/24/15 12:40 Re: Do you like the desert?? Author: hogantunnel Very nice composition and thank you. What are the directions from highway 58 to this location if you don't mind sharing.

I had a 4 wheel drive Bronco back then so it was easy. Allen Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/24/15 14:13 by bradleymckay. Date: 11/24/15 13:41 Re: Do you like the desert?? Just park close to the crossing and you can walk north west up the network of tracks. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 11/24/15 14:44 by exhaustED. Date: 11/24/15 14:41 Re: Do you like the desert?? JB Date: 11/24/15 15:24 Re: Do you like the desert?? Author: callum_out Yah well, there's always the shot behind and the opposite direction of the smoking boxcar hiding
the 4449 on the opposite track. Might as well be shooting local vegetation! Out Date: 11/24/15 20:26 Re: Do you like the desert?? Author: MojaveBill That "road from Mojave":is Business 58, which runs from Exit 165 through Mojave and east at the south end if town (South Wye) back to 58 at Exit 172.
Regardng the Joshua tree - it's a good picture of a less than attractive Joshua tree but it makes a great composition... Happy and safe Thanksgiving to everyone!
