Like number 2 with the SDP35, U30C, SD35, C630 three builder lash up.

An ex-SAL SDP35 (see the air whistle). Some of those SDP35s, along with the sole ex-ACL SDP35, were given L&N numbers for a short time. L&N was chronically short on power at that time.

Southern NW5 #2100 went to Massachusetts Central (MCER).  Gerry

And many of them high-nose, pretty neat---sure is a nice look back at some rare consists.

This is the first time I've seen or heard of an NW-5. But it sure is a neat looking locomotive, and especially handsome in that SOU scheme.
