Nostalgia & History > Three More From Cajon in the 60'sDate: 02/06/16 11:37 Three More From Cajon in the 60's Author: tehachcond Here's three shots of some six axle second generation Santa Fe power:
4. A set of ALCO RSD-15's on the Kaiser coal train. Sorry about the shadow on the nose. This train must have been running a bit earlier than normal, otherwise, the light would have been perfect here at Summit. 5. On this day, the coal train had a set of SD-24 helpers. Taken at Summit. 6. A set of "gators running light eastbound through the big cut at the west end of Summit. As I remember, these units helped the coal train to Cajon and were returning east as light engines. Thanks for looking, and as always, comments welcome. Brian Black Castle Rock, CO. Here we see LSI 2400 ex-ATSF 9802/802 in the middle of a 3-unit consist shoving loaded ore cars up the incline to the top of the ore dock in Presque Isle MI, July 1986.
RSD15's were the "go to" motors for heavy tonnage, Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/06/16 12:28 by terrybaker.
