Nostalgia & History > ex-EJ&E GP38-2 in the SouthDate: 02/06/16 14:45 ex-EJ&E GP38-2 in the South Author: MartyBernard Four photos of four Birmingham Southern RR geeps in Bessemer, AL on April 11, 1992. BS 700, 702, 703, and 704 carried the same road number on the "J".
The fifth photo is of GP38-2 700 when it was EJ&E's, shown at US Steel, Gary, IN on February 1, 1977. This how it works when you have a parent in common. Enjoy, Marty Bernard Edited 2 time(s). She was the regular power for the crew out of Waukeegan. Used up there as there were a couple industries who's track had too sharp a curve for the six axle SD's to go. She still roams in J orange even for it's new owner.

Now imagine a GP30 in EJ&E (or Birmingham Southern) paint. |
