Nostalgia & History > GE & Caboose At Walong (Tehachapi Loop)

This was taken Jan. 23, 1975, with an old Rolli 3.5, as the westbound was leaving the siding Walong.  I actually had this framed, along with the Mark Dennis Mojave Carl's Jr. photo. Took it out and scanned it for our own "Cabhop" on the blog. I understand nowadays, this area is off limits to railfans. Looks like a GE, SD-39, GE and a SD-9. In the distance, you can see the water tank at Woodford.

My teenage daughter took a photography class in college. At the time, she was using a 35mm Canon AT-1. I asked her if she wanted my Rolli 2.8. When I showed her the camera, "I don't want that old BOX CAMERA." A few weeks later her teacher said his favorite camera was the same Rolli. She changed her mind and took the box camera. KIDS!

That is an excellent photo and worthy of publication.  You should get that framed and hung on your wall.
