Nostalgia & History > Belt Railway of Chicago Power, Part 2Date: 02/10/16 15:04 Belt Railway of Chicago Power, Part 2 Author: MartyBernard 1. BRC 474 and Caboose 210 in South Chicago Yards on May 13, 1964. A GP7 built Nov. 1951.
2. BRC 477 in Hegwisch, Chicago, IL on March 31, 1964. A GP7 built Aug. 1952. 3. Same as the previous photo. This Kodachrome has faded so badly that little color remains. It looks better in B&W. As you can see this old Kodachrome won. I gave up on fixing the color and made it B&W. Also, it wouldn't sharpen up. But it's my only shot of a BRC Cow and Calf. This is BRC 501A and B in Chicago on April 2, 1971. A TR2A and B built Dec. 1949.
5. BRC 521 and Cabooses 229 and 214 at Clearing Yard, Chicago, IL on April 1, 1984. A SW9 built June 1951. Enjoy, Marty Bernard Edited 3 time(s). Last edit at 02/10/16 15:35 by MartyBernard. Date: 02/10/16 15:06 Re: Belt Railway of Chicago Power, Part 2 Author: 3rdswitch Awesome.

In photo No. 3 that is Burnham Tower way back there on the left. The J gon on the right is at US Steel Supply. And the BRC train is on the C&WI westward.

However I was always curious who had built them? TRRA had some that were very similar... Date: 02/11/16 16:07 Re: Belt Railway of Chicago Power, Part 2 Author: bnsfsd70 BRC's were built new for the BRC. Somewhere out there, there was a magazine ad from the manufacturer that featured them, though I can't seem to find it right now.
