Nostalgia & History > Along the C&NWDate: 02/11/16 05:03 Along the C&NW Author: CNW8531 These GP40's once use to cruise the Water Level Route as they started out life with the New York Central. Here they are nearly twenty years later still earning their keep, but with a new owner and fresh paint. Recently out-shopped from Oelwein, #5515 and #5514 wait on the mainline next to the old car shops in Clinton with train "NPPTA". Once the bridge closes their on the move again eastward into Illinois and on to Proviso. Photo's taken on 9/02/83.
Date: 02/11/16 05:08 Re: Along the C&NW Author: CNW8531 1st A quartet of GP40's (5514-5507-5528-5511) are westbound out of Clinton with a Proviso to Des Moines manifest in November of 1983.
