Cedar Rapids is as far west as I remember going. Is there something in the photo that speaks Council Bluffs to you?

I could certainly be wrong, but that looks a LOT like the view from the Ave. G CCP/CN crossing in Council Bluffs. The grain elevator, track structure, bluff line, and what I believe are the coaling tower and structures from the CNW yard just next door all appear to be a match. The coaling tower is gone now to make way for UP's Heritage Park business car facility, and Ave. G has a viaduct, but here's a Brad Williams shot from just south of what may have been your location, on the other side of Ave. G. It certainly is not Cedar Rapids. Further, all
the buildings in #1 & 2 are gone, victims of various floods over the last 25 years. I believe the turntable and the adjacent roundhouse/freight office went in 1993 while the power plant in the background has just finished coming down, a victim of the 2008 flood. Nice photos, Marty, thanks for posting. Nick Tharalson, Marion, IA Date: 02/12/16 13:31 Re: 4 Chicago Central & Pacific Photos Author: MartyBernard Yes, I was in Council Bluffs on a different date. I fixed my error. Thanks guys.
