Thats correct.BUT, in the OP's post it shows this special instruction was put out nder George Townsend's name. NO HASON n those days as Geo. Townsend retired in 1978. Hasson came about after the UP took over. Sorry, but other posts have been way out of whack also.

Trainmaster Townsend has nothing to do with Hasson Siding.. Where did you come up with that?  Hasson Siding was in and operational
long before Townsend was around .
The three mentioned names came from the front of Southern Pacific Company, Los Angeles Division Timetable 208: Effective September
30, 1956.

A slightly different version of Hasson was built by Metrolink in the mid 90s, about 1/2 mile west of the original location.  One end was named CP Hasson but was re-named to honor Simi Valley mayor and SCRRA Board member Bill Davis.  He was a strong advocate for Metrolink and Lossan.  The other end was (still is?) named Santa Susana, in our attempt to preserve the historical SP names.  We had a policy to not name CPs the same as current passenger station names.

No Hasson listed in Los Angeles Division Timetable 6, October 31, 1976. No Ventura Subdivision listed either.

According the October 29, 1989 SP Western Region timetable Hasson was a spur track where the SP would setout O2 cars for the rocket testing facility in the Santa Susana mountains.  The spur was between the new siding between CP Santa Susana and CP Davis that was built by Metroink.  During October 29, 1989 time period there was an 8,130 siding called Santa Susana between MP 436 and MP 437.5 where the station used to at and now there is spur to a lumber yard that gets between 4 to 8 cars a week.  Over the years siding and spurs on the southern part of the coast line have gone and come back depending on whether or not SP was running freight trains on the coast.

LA Division TT 210, 4-28-1957, list Hasson with a 68 car siding. BY TT No. 217, 4-24-1960, Hasson was an additional station with no car capacity listed.

In the 70s, the subdivision that this rule is ALLEGED to have come from was called the Santa Barbara Subdivision. Remained that way into the 80s, too

In Timetable number 208, Los Angeles Division, dated and effective Sept 30, 1956, There is NO Santa Barbara Subdivision.
The Ventura Subdivision covered the trackage from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara MP 370.7.

So what year are you getting at. You got officers listed in the 70s and now you dig something out of the 50s. I never said there waassn't a Ventura Sub, just not when those officers were listed

The current siding between CP Santa Susana, MP 439.2, and CP Davis, MP 440.8, is 1.7 miles south or if you prefer east of the old Santa Susana siding which ended at MP 437.5.

It is interesting to know that CP Davis is named after an old Metrolink board member.  With the was tne board has run Metrolink nothing should ever be named after these people.  CP Davis should changed back to CP Hasson.

Without Bill Davis there would be no Metrolink to Ventura County; in strongly conservative GOP territory, he (himself a Republican) was a strong advocate for this public infrastructure investment and overcame opposition to get it done.  I was there.

I don't know where the original poster got his information for the start of this thread, however what he posted is all in the Los Angeles Division Timetable No. 210, April 28, 1957. That includes the Ventura Sub., part of Rule 105 quoted by him in the special instructions and the officers cited by him. Interestingly the special instructions containing rule 105 appeared in the timetable and not in separate LA Division Special Instructions.

\Officers don't match up with 1957. He looks to have just made this up from a couple of sources

Here are some scans of Los Angeles Division Timetable No. 210, April 28 1957.

1.cover including officers
2. Station list with second and third class eastward train. There was a separate page for eastward first class train
3. Special Instruction for the Ventura Sub.
