Nostalgia & History > Santa Fe in the Franklin CanyonDate: 05/26/16 07:52 Santa Fe in the Franklin Canyon Author: ATSF5964 It was the spring of 1992 and I had a new Hi8 video camera, so I was shooting the Santa Fe in Franklin Canyon whenever I got the chance. Both the motive power and car types are typical for the period- a little bit of everything. Most of the locations are unchanged these days, just less traffic than back then.

Uncle Joe,Seffner,Fl. Date: 05/26/16 13:41 Re: Santa Fe in the Franklin Canyon Author: GP30Frank It seems everything in your video was 4-axle power. Now, it's seldom that you see anything but 6-axle. ( Having never been to Franklin Canyon, maybe the terrain dictated 4-axle )

I loved Franklin Canyon and each side of the tunnel because it felt like you were miles and miles away from the Bay Area. Thanks for posting, I can use this to help me with my layout that follows the line.

Nice camera work, crisp editing and great sound. I don't usually have the patience to watch video, but this was a treat. Tim Costello Date: 07/26/22 17:20 Re: Santa Fe in the Franklin Canyon Author: goldcoast Showing my age, but I greatly miss the San Francisco Chief.
