I Need Help Figuring These Out
Author: MartyBernard

Roger was shooting in Echo Canyon one day in December 1984.  He was using two cameras.  One with a wide angle and one with a telephoto (maybe zoom).  Thus the numbers on the slides are not in sequence.

1. and 2. UP 2482 (C30-7).  Where was this train?  It is possiblhy not in Echo Canyon and possibly not the same day as the post I just made.

3. and 4. I think these two go together.  The power consist was UP 3147 (SD40-2), SP 9328 (SD45T-2), and UP 3116 (SD40).

5. And where was this guy?  UP 3499 (SD40-2), 6935 (DDA40X), 3602 (SD40-2), and 3740 (SD40-2).

Thanks for your help,
Marty Bernard

Take care,

Hello,

The x-OSL main track is in the locomotive's shadow in photo 1.  In photo 3, it looks like there is a train waiting on the OSL in the distance, seen just ahead of the 3147.

Take care,

Mark

In pic 1, "Begin CTC" means the west end of the
CTC that extended to Cheyenne? How long was
that the west end?

Looks like 1/4 mile stripes & a mile marker on the left, photo #1, but I can't make it out.

Hello,

CTC at that time extended east from Granger through Green River as far as Rock Springs, WY, about 47 miles in total.

Take care,

Mark
