5 of Southern Pacific GP40-2s
Author: MartyBernard

1. SP 7245 with an east bound at Martinez, CA  on April 16, 1993.  Not sure I like the flasher in there.

2. Without the flasher.

3. SP 6307 was a GP35R and 7253 was a GP40-2 at Bakersfield, CA on October 18, 1992.

4. SP 6807 and 7656 at Oakland, CA on August 8, 1991.  6807 was a SD45T-2 and 7856 was a ex-SSW GP40-2.

5. SSW 7254 in New Orleans, LA on January 15, 1993.

Enjoy,
Marty Bernard

In photo #3, they were removing mars lights and putting gumball beacons on SP power in 1972?

Thanks for sharing a nice series Marty.  I really like that first shot.  I think the flasher adds to the shot in a way that the train becomes secondary, which I think in this case works.

WAF, thanks on the date.  It should be 1992.

Kent, thanks.  Let's see if anybody else comments.

SP 6307 was a GP35 rebuild, SP7253 is a GP40-2.
