Hogheaded asked if Suntan ran over the hill
to Santa Cruz?--
Yes it did 'till the big storm of 1940.
Heres proof-from my files
Location is 'Big Trees' just south
of Felton CA.

Indeed it did.  I know a guy who rode the train over that line before it was shut down.

Big Trees may have been the only SP location in their Employee Timetables that listed the trees under "Impaired Side Clearances."

You can still ride in a heavyweight coach through here from Felton down to the Boardwalk. The big trees are still there. (albeit a little bit bigger)
