i really enjoy your Suntan threads Frank ... was the line governed under signal rules back then ??? ... i ask because it looks like a set of APB signals beyond he switch

Yes,Until the line washed out in
winter of  1940 bet Los Gatoes
and Felton,It was abandoned  bet.
just south of Los Gatoes  and
just  N/O  Felton.Did not warant the
big expense for the little bussiness
they had.

​All excellent pictures. Doesn't look like much of a train in that 2nd picture as the semaphores in the background are in the process of clearing. Maybe just a cab hop? Or possibly running around the train?

those 4 bolt things in the track are GAGE RODS to help hold the rails in or near the prescribed gage measurement for the class of track in the timetable ... nice photos

Until now I hadn't seen the shot at Laurel before. I've walked a lot of the old line between Wrights and Santa Cruz. Looks like a different world today. - Tony

Picture #3 at Laurel - reminds me of a few of the places I once visited on the NWP.

Lonely and quiet... Now gone forever.
