Nostalgia & History > CNW 8531 and Brother Slacks In ActionDate: 06/29/16 03:14 CNW 8531 and Brother Slacks In Action Author: MILW86A Two of our TO Family hard at work back in the CNW Days:
1. Here is Slacks in his car about to OS a WB at Beverly Iowa April 5 of 1990. Sometimes he would get out of switching and play single track operator from time to time. You could hang out with him as long as you brought him goodies,. :} And yes I rode in that car too. 2. Not the best shot, but here is a CNW EB Stack at Mechanicsville Iowa in June 1990. CNW 8531 is the engineer on this train, as at the time he was on the Clinton Extraboard. I'm honored to call these two gentlemen my friends. I had to look back at my time book for the details of that day. We had a good run on the OAOC-7 that day (06/03/90), called for 1:00pm in Boone and tie-up in Clinton at 5:25pm. It must have been around 4:00pm or so when we saw you at Mechanicsville. Seems like forever ago. Just got in this morning from another good trip, one that started out in Mo. Valley on the ZSCG1. Who would have ever thought back them how it would be now. Time flies! Thanks for the look back!!
