A Grande moment at Tabernash
Author: run8diesel

We're at the west switch at Tabernash CO on the Moffat Tunnel line, and the 708 coal train climbs eastbound along the Fraser River.  The Continental Divide lies some 20-odd miles ahead.  Sequence taken on Sept. 7, 1986.  Hard to believe it's been 30 years ago.

Great photos and memories! Thank you for sharing! I was fortunate enough to get some photos of the Rio Grande/SP in Colorado in the 1980s, which seem like yesterday in some respects, like ancient history in other respects.

Thanks for posting these Steve.  Wow it is hard to believe these were thirty years ago.  Back then it was just everyday stuff and looking back I wish I had shot SO much more of it.

That must have been some hike to reach your vantage point.

And was the siding the original alignment as it doesn't follow the the more direct mainline?

The siding looks to meander with sweeping curves.
