Nostalgia & History > 5 of Rick Burn's Union Pacific Power PhotosDate: 07/23/16 21:57 5 of Rick Burn's Union Pacific Power Photos Author: MartyBernard 1. UP 197 with a freight train in Rupert, ID in April 1971. Looks like a GP9 A-B-B power consist.
2. UP 257 (GP30) on the Intermountain Indian School Line in Brigham City, UT in Janiuary 1972. Rick, I'm not buying it that the Chamber uses a GP30 and a boxcar as their tourist info center. 3. UP 471 at McCammon, ID in May 1971. Looks like a GP20 followed by a GP9B and a F-unit. 4. UP 470 approaching 2nd Street crossing on Pocatello Route, Ogden, UT in January 1971. Looks like a GP20 and 2 GP9Bs. 5. UP 839 at Garfield, UT in November 1970. A GP30 and a GP9B? Enjoy Rick's photos, Marty Bermard Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/23/16 22:00 by MartyBernard. Rick captured the essence if that generation which had a variety of locomotives to choose from.

The next question is....what was the industry that used rail for their deliveries? There was a U.P. caboose near that sign for the longest time....always wondered where it went to after somebody moved it.
