Part of the space from the original 1980's 1st class lounge is now reclaimed for the new lounge.
It was kind of like a glorified living room.  In the second shot taken November 29, 1986, looking toward the great hall,
you can see where the Metra ticket counter used to be.  Of course, before that it was the
original ticket counter for all trains.  This is the area where the new 1st class lounge is.

Also found this shot of a side room in the lounge, that contained a
sign of one of the great trains of Amtrak's early years.

Nice! I rode the Broadway out to the east coast twice, way back when. Too bad one of the Pennsy's top trains it didn't have the staying power it needed...
