What is the research project? To see what happens to a rare locomotive collection when you leave it out unprotected for 30 years?

At the risk of rehashing a long running debate...how 'bout we rephrase it as what happens when one institution essentially dumps an enormous collection onto a museum that has no way to care for it or protect it, and provides no resources for the future care of said collection?

Yeah, I have no objections to paying for this, but as I mentioned, I live in Kansas, so commuting to work on the collection is a bit of a challenge.
