Nostalgia & History > Trains At a DistanceDate: 07/27/16 21:09 Trains At a Distance Author: MartyBernard Many of us began taking train pictures because we were model railroaders. We were looking to learn about details. Without the constraint of wanting to see the detail, many more photo opportunities open up. Here are some examples from Roger Puta's work. Help in location identification would be appreciated.
1. AT&SF October 1985 2. AT&SF 5055 October 1985 3. AT&SF 5264 October 1985 4. AT&SF April 1983, I think we all likw whole train photographs. Enjoy, Marty Bernard Edited 3 time(s). AT&SF 5264 October 1985 I'm not certain on this one, but I think it's a westbound at Marmon, NM (Mesita): https://goo.gl/maps/7oAh7x9qhLv That's a 6-axle GE on the point, so it's not AT&SF 5264, which was a former Amtrak SDP40F. > 4. AT&SF April 1983, I think we all likw whole > train photographs. This is an eastbound at West Pegs, west of Prewitt, NM. The spur up to the power plant can be seen to the left, and in the distance, the line up to the coal mines. they can be dwarfed by Mother Nature in an instant. Thanks for posting, Marty. Nick Tharalson, Marion, IA Date: 07/28/16 19:59 Re: Trains At a Distance Author: qnyla Evan_Werkema Wrote:
