Nostalgia & History > Not your usual Metrolink meetDate: 08/24/16 14:18 Not your usual Metrolink meet Author: lamta_jay On a day I had visited my daughter and Grand daughter in Bakersfield
I drove my unusual way to Newhall via the Antelope Valley and Soledad Canyon I saw this "movie train" at Revenna and waited for the meet. Lucky for me this was a Saturday and not a Sunday. Just curious, where did this equipment go. Last time I saw these E units they were stored next to the Steam Plant along San Fernando Road in Sunland just south of San Fernando. Thanks for looking Jay Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/24/16 14:22 by lamta_jay. Date: 08/24/16 14:30 Re: Not your usual Metrolink meet Author: Cajon92 Nice catch.
I remember those E units were stored for a time at Saugus on the spur just east of Magic Mountain Parkway. The E units were stored in there for some time along with several old passenger cars. My Dad use to drive by the old equipment on our way to the Mall down in Valencia. Then one day when we went down there the E units were gone followed later by the passenger cars. Last I drove passed that spur Metrolink's Christmas train equipment (flat cars) and caboose were tied down there. I may be wrong here but I think it was a BMW commercial The engineer on the Movie Train was Gus who was one of the semi regular Antalope Valley engineers who filled in for my friend Tom Peck. Jay |
