WayCar Wednesday in Mojave

Taken while my group of Boy Scouts bought some snacks
at that last store on the Main Street in Mojave after spending
9 long days backpacking in the Sierras. I think this was our
Onion Valley to Reds Meadow (Mammoth Lakes) trip.
Total number of Scouts for the hike was 33 plus
a dozen Scout leaders and Parents.

Track in foreground is the Lone Pine Branch to Searles Jct.
and the Trona RR. Date was August 20, 1988.

nice pic. i also remember a week long boy scout hike/trip that ended in red's meadow. good times............

That's Sierra Highway, not Main Street. It was originally J St. Nice pic.

A great post and photo! Looks like another long SP train of empties headed back to Oregon. Those were the days!
I'm now going to google the Red Meadows stuff and probably get lost in maps and the Sierra for the rest of the night now. Thanks! ; )
